On Decentralised Storage and Arweave
Dear readers,
One thing that has recently caught my eye is decentralised storage. Instead of storing my files in a Google Drive or something similar, why not store them in a decentralised network?
In this issue, that’s what we’re going to explore and Arweave is one of the crypto projects out there making this a reality. However, it is not without competitors, which are STORJ, Filecoin, and Siacoin. In the coming issues, we’ll also be taking a cursory look at each of these projects, culminating in a summary blog about all of them in comparison with each other.
A quick update on the Staking and Fantasy Portfolio: CAKE staking unlocked on Jan 27 and I decided to re-stake for another 6 months. With the initial 100 CAKE tokens, I’ve managed to grow an extra 15+ tokens within that period. That’s about 15% averaged in half a year, which I consider to be pretty good.
The initial price I bought the tokens for was at $3.50. The current price is just over $4 which is not enticing enough for me to sell. Therefore, I’ll let them sit for another half a year.
No new entries yet for the Fantasy Portfolio although I am eyeing a slot for one, maybe two, of the decentralised storage ones we’re about to cover.
